ONS (“awns”), Office Nick Shekerjian, is an architecture and design practice from West Hollywood, California that operates in professional design practice and education. I examine massive spatial scales and questions of nature. I have explored contemporary design pedagogy with an exhibition of work at the Phoenix Art Museum and the 2018 Venice Biennale at the US Pavilion and won a recent competition for the construction of an instalation with Green Box Arts Foundation in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. My current work seeks qualities of lightness, utility, with an interest between computational design and their material results. Specific ideas aside, I believe design is the translation of the personal to the political amidst real constraints.
